PCS to Hill AFB? A Quick Guide to Living in Layton

PCS to Hill AFB? A Quick Guide to Living in Layton — Petersen Home Group

Got orders to Hill Air Force Base? Layton is one of the most popular places to land, with quick access to the base gates and plenty of housing options.

Plan your search

  • Start with the gate you’ll use. Your daily drive depends on which gate is closest to your work.
  • Get pre-approved early. If you’re using a VA loan, talk to a lender who closes VA loans often. It makes the process smoother.
  • Tour virtually first. Video tours can narrow your list before you arrive.

VA loan basics

  • Often no down payment for eligible buyers
  • No private mortgage insurance
  • The home must meet VA property standards, so expect an appraisal that checks condition

Think about resale

Military moves happen every few years. Homes near the base, in good school areas, with simple floor plans tend to resell or rent more easily when your next orders come.

We work with military families often, and we can help you buy now and plan ahead for your next move.

Meet Kaitlyn:

Originally from Houston, Texas, we decided to move to Utah to be closer to the mountains and lead a more outdoor lifestyle for our two daughters. My husband and I are Geologists and enjoy traveling and hiking together.

After being a Geologist, teacher, and then a stay-at-home mom, I decided to pursue real estate as a career. We chose to live in Ogden because of the small-town feel, family-friendly amenities, and the hiking and biking trails right in our backyard.

As a full-time hyperlocal agent, I can help you navigate specific neighborhoods.

As the co-chair of the community outreach committee at the Board of Realtors, I am dedicated to making a positive impact in my community. I actively contribute by assisting individuals in finding affordable housing, supporting homeless shelters through donations, and organizing fundraising initiatives for our non-profit organization, Have A Heart Home. Our ultimate goal is to provide a home for a deserving family in need on an annual basis.

I have a wealth of experience helping clients relocate to and from the Ogden area, and have a deep understanding of the local real estate market.

If you are considering a move to Ogden or are looking to relocate to a new area, I can help make the process smooth and stress-free. As a relocation specialist, I am here to provide you with personalized, comprehensive support to ensure that your move goes smoothly.

Whether you are looking to buy or sell a home, I am here to guide you through the process and help you find the perfect property. I am committed to providing my clients with exceptional service and will work tirelessly to ensure that you find a home that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations.

I donate time and portions of my earnings to local agencies that help our community prosper. I advocate and support lobbying for affordable housing and homeowner rights. e-PRO®: Specially certified in safeguarding your private information before, during, & after transactions

Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you find it helpful and informative. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your relocation needs, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to working with you and helping you make your move to Ogden a success!

Why Listing with Kaitlyn is Different:

I have an 8-week marketing plan. Most agents do not have a plan past one weekend of open houses.

I provide my clients with data-driven marketing. If a house does not sell in the first week, I have a plan that includes 5 steps before reducing the price of the home.

I will actively communicate with you through every step of the process. Diligently sharing feedback from showings following up with buyer’s agents after viewing the home, and calling weekly to discuss the progress from the previous week.
