Bountiful has lots of well-built older homes. Buyers love the character, but they notice dated details fast. Here’s where to spend first.
High-impact, lower-cost updates
- Paint. Light, warm neutrals make rooms feel bigger and photograph better.
- Lighting. Swap old fixtures and use the same bulb color throughout.
- Hardware. New cabinet pulls and door handles update a kitchen for very little.
- Flooring in main rooms. If carpet is worn, refinished hardwood or new flooring can change the whole feel.
Fix what inspectors find
Older homes often turn up the same items: old electrical panels, aging water heaters, roof wear and drainage. A pre-listing inspection lets you fix or disclose issues on your terms instead of during negotiations.
Lean into the view
If you have a valley view, schedule photos for golden hour, and make sure windows are spotless.
